The SmartSkid is the first and only patented system designed specifically for catalyst sulfiding. Each skid provides safe and extremely accurate injection of DMDS or TBPS, enusring that the maximum amount of activity can be obtained from your hydrotreating and hydrocracking catalysts.

Reactor Resources also provides injection services for Tributyl Amine (TBA) and Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA). Ammonia is often used to passivate hydrocracking catalysts with nitrogen after sulfiding in order to reduce the risk of temperature excursions caused by hyper-active catalysts. TBA is a safer alternative to ammonia injection and decomposes to form ammonia at typical sulfiding condtions. Based on its Health Hazard Classification of 1, MDEA is much safer to handle than both TBA and ammonia, while still providing the nitrogen needed for passivation. MDEA is also low cost, has a high nitrogen density, and is readily available since most refiners are already using this chemical in their sulfur plant.
